We extend our sympathy to Rose Kauffman & family following the passing of Lester Kauffman on Friday, April 6th, 2018.

Dover – Lester William Kauffman, Jr., 77, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 in his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Rosalita (Kunkel) Kauffman with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 4, 2018.

Born April 3, 1941 in York, he was the son of the late Lester W. Kauffman, Sr. and Anna (Stoneseifer) Kauffman. Les spent his entire career working at Federal Paper Board as a union machinist and a member of the American Paper Workers Association Local 811, retiring in 2002. Les loved fishing, playing horseshoes and attending the Street Rod show each year. He was a life member of the South End Social Club, 9th Ward Democratic Club and 12 Ward Democratic Club. Les’s favorite times were spent with his large family.

In addition to his wife Rose; he is survived by his daughters, Leslie Lenhart, husband, Carl, Bonnie Vickers, Gail Dietz, husband, Dave and Kyra Jones; sons, Barry Kauffman, wife, Wilma, Lester W. Kauffman, III, wife, Becky; 19 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; brother, Norman Runkle; sister-in-law, Linda Gaver. Les had a close bond with his niece, Mary Mitchem; and nephew, Bill Reinhold. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Zeigler.

The Kauffman family would like to thank Dr. Amir Tabatabai for his honesty and care he gave to Les during his difficult battle with cancer.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Dover Assembly of God, 4790 Carlisle Rd, Dover, Pa 17315. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Donald Belch officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. The Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
