UPCOMING EVENTS
Women of Purpose Fall Conference
As we know, this year there will not be a conference at the Hershey Lodge in November due to the Lodge not hosting large crowds this year. The District WOP committee is working on a possible online event that we can watch from the comfort of our own church sanctuary (social distancing offered). Anna will provide more information as we receive it.
WOP Fall Bible Study
It was last Fall that we had to cut short our women’s Bible Study on Monday evenings due to the coronavirus and we were unable to have one this past Spring as well. Anna is looking to see who would be interested in a Monday night Bible Study from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., to be held in the Sanctuary where there is plenty of room for social distancing. If there is interest, we will proceed with more information. If there is no interest in a Fall Bible Study, we will wait until the Spring. Please let Anna know your preference.
Women’s Paint Day
Is scheduled for September 12, 9:00 am. If it is a date that you cannot attend and you have paid, we will refund those who have already paid. Sign up is in the upper foyer.
WOP Care Packages for Shut-Ins
You will see there are some gift bags on the platform today and will be there for the next week or two. We would like to bless our shut-ins and are asking for any donations you could provide. In each bag we would like to have: (we would like 6 of every item) Thank you ~ Anna
- small package of tissues
- box of tea bags
- Chapstick (or some type of lip balm)
- Bottle of clear or light colored nail polish
- Fingernail file – Emory board
- non-scented or lightly scented hand lotion
- sugar free mints
- ankle socks
- ink pen
- small flashlight
- dark chocolates
- pill box
BODY NEWS
Township Meeting Update
While not much new information was available, here is what was talked about. The township still has plans to build the road. Where exactly it will cross our property is still in flux. Penn Dot told them that if they make the intersection into a “T”, they would have to install 2 timed traffic lights at a cost of about $1M—$1.5M. In lieu of a light, a traffic circle was also presented. That option would entail losing some more of our property. Nothing has been presented to us in writing as to compensation. Your deacon board and pastor asks that you pray for wisdom for them as they continue to deal with this issue.
Our Graduates
As we all know, because of the coronavirus, HS and College Graduations either took place in odd ways, have not taken place yet, or may not take place. However, we don’t want to forget about our 2020 Graduates! In the Spring of 2020, the following ladies graduated and we have provided them with a Devotional and Gift Card from Dover Assembly of God Church.
