Welcome

When you’re looking for a church, it can be a little intimidating. You start asking yourself a lot of questions: How will I find my way around? Will the people be unfriendly? Will they be TOO friendly? What should I wear? Is there anything available for my kids? Will the message relate to me?

We’ve been there. And we get it. And if you’re looking for a church, we think you should check out Dover Assembly of God in Dover, PA.

Here is an idea of what to expect when you visit.

Getting Ready

Church clothes can mean so many things. . .
We want you to be comfortable as you worship. For some of us, that means coming casual, “as you are” in jeans and a tee shirt. For others, it means dressing in our “Sunday Best”. Whatever your preference, you’ll fit right in at Dover Assembly.

Service Times

We meet every Sunday morning.

  • Coffee & Donut Fellowship – 9:00 AM
  • Sunday School – 9:30 AM
  • Worship Service – 10:30 AM
  • The ROCK Kids Church – 10:30 AM

Our “Family Night” ministries meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.

Our Location

We’re located right on Route 74 (Carlisle Rd) in Dover, just ½ mile north of the Dover Square. Coming from Route 30, follow Route 74 north for about 5 miles. We are on the left, on the corner of Harmony Grove Rd.

Have Kids?

We have Sunday School classes and Wednesday Family Night classes for all ages. Children 5 and over are welcome to join our ROCK Kids Ministries on Sundays at 10:30 AM so they can participate in Kids worship and Kids church. We also have several nurseries, according to your child’s age.

In addition, our youth ministry for students in grades 6-12 meets Sunday mornings during our Sunday School hour and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM.

Worship

We start the service with a few worship songs. We worship to a mix of contemporary worship songs and contemporary style hymns. Song lyrics are projected onto the screen so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable.

The Offering

We receive an offering during the service. It’s just another way to worship . . . really! Do not be afraid of the offering plates, we are just glad you came out to worship with us. No pressures, give if you can, don’t if you’re not so inclined.  We’re seriously just happy to have you with us.

The Message

Pastor Jeff Bender, our lead pastor, usually preaches on Sundays. Occasionally, others will preach. They always use the Bible as the source for the message and we believe the Bible is relevant to our lives today.
